As of June 25, 2025, the VA requires mandatory Wood-Destroying Insect (WDI) inspections for all purchase loans in El Paso County, Statewide, and most of Colorado, regardless of whether the appraiser sees evidence of damage. Inspections must be documented on a Form NPMA-33 before closing.
